Estonia has imposed sanctions on 14 additional Georgian officials, including Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, according to a statement by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna on the social network X.
Tsahkna also urged other EU member states to respond and take action.
"The violence carried out by the authorities against protesters, journalists, and opposition leaders is criminal and violates human rights.
I call on all EU countries to respond and take action," wrote Tsahkna.
It is worth noting that at the beginning of December, the then-Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis and Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna published a list of individuals banned from entering the Baltic states. The list included Georgia's former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri.
Earlier, the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia announced a joint agreement among the three Baltic states to impose national sanctions on those involved in suppressing legitimate protests in Georgia.
