When you have a mandate from the opposition party, this is your leverage, and giving up leverage is also a political mechanism. Therefore, this political mechanism can be used much more intelligently and effectively than to remain empty-handed without any leverage, - one of the leaders of the "Gakharia for Georgia" party, Zviad Dzidziguri, said on the "PalitraNews" program "360 degrees".
According to Dzidziguri, they are not going to enter the parliament and take their salaries, and moreover, according to him, "no one is going to commit political suicide".
"On the first day, we announced that we would not give legitimacy to this parliament, we are of the same mind. We will not enter this parliament. Now to talk about when you will write the application, when you will canceling the lists ... these doubts are doubts.
When we do that, leave it to us to decide. It depends on many factors. It is related to political processes and the international community, with whom we are in active communication mode. I have already said several times that I will not enter the parliament, and it is even the same offensive. I cut this mandate and threw it to people, I had such a thing in my biography in 2008.
When you have a mandate from the opposition party, this is your leverage, and giving up leverage is also a political mechanism. Therefore, this political mechanism can be used much more intelligently and effectively than to shoot on the spur of the moment and remain empty-handed without any leverage. A long process of political struggle is ahead. We say that we will not enter, we will not take salaries.
Allow us to take this extreme step when we deem it most appropriate, necessary. "No one is going to commit political suicide," Dzidziguri said.
In addition, Dzidziguri responded to the statement of the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, and noted that the Speaker of the Parliament should speak in a balanced manner and not as an activist of one of the parties.
"I want to respond to Shalva Papuashvili. In general, the chairman of the Parliament and the prime minister of the country as such do not represent one specific party, they are the chairman of the parliament elected by the whole of Georgia, and the Prime Minister has the mandate of the whole of Georgia. Unfortunately, recently (this refers to the period of Shalva Papuashvili) the chairmen of the "Georgian Dream" Parliament speak as activists of one of the parties. They do not have the feeling that they should speak on behalf of the whole of Georgia. He should be the chairman of everyone - the opposition or the position, he should speak in a balanced way. The speaker of the parliament should be different from Irakli Zarkua with his texts and speech. Just as the Prime Minister should not act as an activist of a particular party. It has much more functions, it should have much more weight", said Dzidziguri.
Regarding the issue of why "Gakharia for Georgia" does not take part in meetings with other opposition parties, Dzidziguri answered: "We have repeatedly stated that we are not the organizers of the action, but we recognize the public protest, that's why we participate in this protest."
"When there was a student protest, students who joined our political organization also participated, when there was a "women's march", our women participated, etc., Dzidziguri said.
